| I am looking for a plant like foxglove. I have two small children and believe foxglove is poisonous. I know euphorbia can cause skin irritation. Is there anything else I should avoid. Shame that I love foxglove and euphorbia. Thanks. |

penstemon or verbascum?
is it plants with tall spires of flowers you're looking for - euphorbia and foxglove are very different looking. |

| I once got a book out of the library that listed all the poisonous plants in the garden, and you would be surprised how many there are. I would be very surprised if your children ever came to any harm in your garden......much better to encourage them not to put strange things into their mouths! I have three children, by the way, so I have plenty of experience. The world is a dangerous place only if you perceive it as such...relax and enjoy the beauties of nature! |

I agree with everything suggested already.
Let me add one or two more possibilities.
Antirrhinum AKA snapdragon.
Physostegia AKA Obedient Plant
Lupins

| Thanks for all the great suggestions. I am looking for upright plants cos my borders are quite narrow so I think all those you have suggested will look great mixed with my lavender and box balls. |
