bought them early june from nursery in kinsealy
i left them in pots till 2 or 3 weeks ago when i noticed the first plants leaves starting to go brown
i took this as cue to plant them out
planted both in wooden trough using erricaceous compost totally
now the leaves on second plant are starting to turn red
there are some buds on this plant but they dont look like they will lead to anything
any ideas is it stress? |

Stress possibly yes.
when watering them during the times you had them in the pots, did you use mains water or rain water. You see it may be best to use collected rain water rather than mains water. Because if the water in your district is hard (limey), the type that gives you limescale, then you are best not to apply it to an acid loving plant such as the blueberry.
How or never, give your plants a boost now by watering on an application of Miracid which feeds the blueberry through the roots and leaves, and gives it an acid boost.
Also have a look at this ongoing cranberry threads references to acid soil similar to your blueberry...... Cranberries in Limerick. _________________ If you benefited from irishgardeners.com, please link to us or tell others, so that the site can grow and benefit more gardeners.
