I'm getting an inlaw who is afarmer to prepare and sow my lawn, which is currently agricultural land. He doesn't have a stone burier so I'm guessing I'll need to pay someone to come in with one. I'm in Meath around the Dunboyne,Summerhill area. Does anyone know where I might get someone with a stone burier in this area??

Visit your local farmers co-op (large farm hardware store) and ask there. I know in my local one that these contractors leave their business cards in behind the counter. Some of the farmers who offer a contracting service will have such a machine.

You will probably get a better lawn with a stone raker rather than a stone burier. Do others agree?

Not necessarily Rockworld . One has to wonder would the lawn benefit from having stone buried in it to facilitate drainage, rather than being taken away through the use of a stone raking machine.

I've seen a 'stone-burier' in action here in Essex. It's an amazing machine works basically by using centrifuge and rotovator technology. The job it does preparing ground for serious lawning has to be seen to be believed. The project they were at was a bowling green from scratch. The eventual result which included the seeding was amazing. I would not like to be paying for the machine though.
