Hello,
thought it best and polite to say hello, very new to the whole gardening thing but enjoying it, i've being looking around the forum and find it very interesting, i have somewhere near a half a acre and after 8 years decided to actually do it !!!!!!!!!!,
hope to do a veg plot and have some fruit in now, also lots and lots of shrubs and trees in
so reason well gave up smoking 6 months ago and needed something turns out i actually like the garden and the work so i'm now 100% into our garden and loving every second of it
other hobbies are motorbikes both road and off road trials etc but for now i'm very much green fingered
So then Hello to all

Hello Mark,
I am very new here too, just a couple of days. I see you are posting from the West, I am in Mayo.
We live on a very exposed plot so get battered by the winds, we also seem to be situated on slabs of stone making planting difficult but I hope to pick up some ideas over the coming days.

Welcome Mark, Well done on giving up smoking....and even better that you have taken up gardening...I can't think of anything that is better for our spirits than connecting with nature in this way.
If only the old back and aching joints agreed........!!! |
