I have lived in this house for 12 years. In the evenings, there is always a bat that circles my garden. Occasionally, I have seen two of them. It seems that at dusk, they fly slower, & I can see them quite well against the sky. I have stood in the middle of the garden & have sensed them whizzing past me, maybe having a closer look at me? My house is about 20 yrs old . I have often wondered where they roost. I thought it maybe in some very tall conifers nextdoor, but of course, they weren't so tall 12 years ago. After reading the replies on here, I now think they may live in the cavity walls. I love my little bats & feel quite honoured that they have chosen my garden! |

| so many people believe they roost in hedges especially Leylandii. If they are male bats they may be in your cavity. If they are females they arent. Females gather together in large numbers which leaves a lot of droppings in windows and cars |
