How do I post pictures?

By uploading/posting a photo within any of the threads on Irish gardeners.com, you the user, must have
(a) taken the photo yourself, and received the permission of the people in the photo
or
(b) own the copyright to the photo, and received the permission of the people in the photo.
or
(c) have the permission of the copyright owner, and received the permission of the people in the photo.

If the photo you are posting does not fall into category (a), (b) or (c), do not post the photo.

Here are the steps to posting a photo or image:
1. Make sure your photo or image is located on another website. You can try uploading your photos to a website that can store them for free like:

2 Now that your photos are online you need to know how to make them appear in a post. Again this is quite easy. Simply copy the address of the image into the area where you are creating your post e.g. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j280/gardenplansireland/lichen.jpg
and place the text after it.
This is a pic of some lichen growth as can be seen in its image title above.

When you are finished it will look something like this....

A quick way to place the two pieces of text around the web address of the image is to select the web address text of the image with your mouse and press the button that says 'Img' above where you are writing the post.

This very made easy for you on Photobucket.
Under each photograph you'll see 3 boxes URL, TAG and IMG. Left click with your mouse and highlight the IMG one and then right click your mouse. Select copy. Come over to Irish gardeners and open a topic then right click your mouse again. Select paste. You should now be able to see your picture.

Now when you finish your post the images will show inside your post.

If you want to see your garden images directly within your post you can do the following in flickr....

How to post images from Flickr.
To get the URL of the actual image file, find the photo you want to use. Click the "All Sizes" button above it and select the size you want. If the photo is yours, two text fields appear below the photo. The first contains a snippet of HTML that will produce the photo on your web site, with a link back to the photo page on Flickr. The second contains the URL of the image itself. Simply copy and paste the one into where you are creating your post

Simply copy the address of the image into the area where you are creating your post e.g.http://www.flickr.com/photos/132375_0ca82ae31e.jpg
and place the text after it.

How to post images from picasa.
Should you wish to post pics from picasa here is a link to a good guide to for this operation http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2451273#2451273

If any of you Irish gardeners out there still have problems posting pics,
feel free to post a question about it in Overall discussion or send me a PM (Private message) by clicking on the PM button below, and I will see if I can upload them for you.
