I was thinking of planting some bulbs in the front lawn, what varieties/types would have bloomed and died back before the grass would have to be cut in anger?

Snow drops should be pretty safe as they flower so early.

The bulbs on the early spring part of this chart should be alright to use as long as you do your damnest to hold off on mowing.

The chart is from this IG sticky http://www.gardenplansireland.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=303

Good thinking, thanks.

Excellent chart CPI Cool Do you have any others for other flowering plants?

Would very early spring be classed as the first few weeks of Feb, this may sound like a stupid Q but I've heard that on the continent (Chart mentions Holland) they sometinmes count Spring as Mar, Apr, May?

I aim to update all stickys with new information whenever possible, including valuable "in the garden" member experience.

Very early spring in the chart covers bulbs that at the earliest flower in January.
The absolute latest they will finsh completely is in March.
Take the peak flowering time as Febuary..
